I was looking for a ROM dress when I came across this fantastic business model. Since the concept of affordable designer dress rental is not something very common among my friends, I thought sharing about the four businesses I have come across would be useful for other Singaporean women out there looking for THAT special dress.
Keeping to an affordable budget of SGD$200 for a dress (super affordable compared to the rates bridal studios try to charge you for tacky looking gowns), I have taken the liberty to pick out a variety of dresses from their websites to give an idea of what you could get for that very reasonable price:

While I have not visited Runway Rent’s showroom before, I have visited La Belle Couture when I was making my rounds looking for a bridal gown. There was a huge range of gowns available at the studio, and I really liked some of the designs by their talented in-house designers (so much that I got one from their bridal sale). Quite a number of the dresses from Runway Rent are from La Belle Couture, which are equally stunning as the other designer labels they have available. The best thing about them? They also have a collection of suits for men. Ladies, this is a good alternative for your significant others who don’t own suits and need to dress up for a special one-off event.

Some of the dresses from Style Lease are absolutely drop dead gorgeous. I went to their cozy showroom at Circular road for a fitting and really fell in love with several of the dresses. In particular, the Elle Zeitoune label struck a chord with me, simply yet super flattering for the female silhouette. I am definitely looking forward to another event I can rent that particular dress for!

I haven’t had the opportunity to rent from them before, from their website, they definitely have a really large collection across various designers for you to choose from. For Muslim ladies out there looking to glam up, they also have a Muslimah friendly collection for you too! And the thing I love most about them: they also encourage ladies out there who have those gorgeous dresses just sitting in the closet collecting dust to share the love and put them out on rent via the platform. This way more people can get to share in the dream of decking out in those bloody expensive yet gorgeous designer gowns.
